Funding and Donations

I want to thank everyone who contributed in any way to my Eagle project. Even though it’s my Eagle Project, it takes a team and lot of support to get it done.

Red Basket
Red Basket was a great website for raising money. Once they confirmed all the information about my Eagle Project, then any donation that went through Red Basket was tax deductible to the donor. They also did not collect any fees for their service. Unfortunately they seem to have closed down now. While RedBasket was up they created a story for my project and they were very kind in their words, we attempted to recover the link for that story but unfortunately it is no longer there.

GoFundMe
I set up a GoFundMe page because it is so well known that many people are more comfortable going their to donate. I was able to thank donors as soon as they donated and make updates as my project progressed.

Books
Some people bought books and had them sent directly to me. Others dropped books off at my house. People also dropped off books at St. Jude Catholic Church in the box I had placed there. Sometimes people would email me and I would go to their house to pick up the books. I collected hundreds of books. I was amazed at how total strangers embraced my project.

New books that were shipped directly to me.

Lowes–
Lowes is great. I typed up a list of items that I needed such as paint, Sika Polyurethane Fence Post Mix, cedar posts, caulking, etc. with a cover letter. I went in my Class A and made my request. They donated the items that I asked for.
